Meet a Few of the AFYA Practitioners
Dr Mackenzie: Naturopathic Doctor
Dr Mackenzie’s path began in nutritional sciences and by pursuing opportunities during her time in University, she was introduced to naturopathic medicine’s power to integrate with conventional medicine to produce the best results possible. She has always been interested in evidence-based medicine and working with a team-based approach, valuing open conversation and ensuring you feel comfortable speaking about any health concerns you’re experiencing. Striving for balance and moderation in her own life while working hard to reach a healthy state of being, she welcomes all areas of concern but has a special interest in hormonal health for young adults and teens as well as pediatric skin rejuvenation, gut health, and mental health concerns.
Benjamin Organ: Lead Nutritionist
Ben’s journey as a nutrition professional began through his own personal struggle. At just 12 years old, he was classified as class III obese; facing body image problems, health concerns, and social scrutiny. Fuelled by his desire to live a long, healthy, and happy life he began learning all he could about nutrition and health. With this knowledge, he lost the excess weight and completely changed the course of his life. Far beyond body composition, he saw how powerful nutrition was to one’s overall wellness and that it has the incredible power to change one’s energy, outlook, and physiological health. After an intensive 5 years of Nutritional education he is impassioned more than ever to educate and share his knowledge with others’, helping people to see their own life-changing results through realistic, evidence- based practices. Ben is thrilled to be a part of AFYA’s Medically-Integrated Wellness program and is excited to grow his reach of bringing wellness to those who seek it.
