7 Ways to Keep Your Skin Fresh During Social Distancing

7 Ways to Keep Your Skin Fresh During Social Distancing- AFYA Skin & Body Clinic

In an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19, people across Canada have been encouraged to practice social distancing. That means for most people their daily routine and schedule are interrupted. At AFYA we’re doing everything we can to keep our community safe, including limiting the number of treatments done daily and reducing hours. We’ve also encouraged any high-risk or sick clients to reschedule.

Luckily, there are a number of things you can do at home to keep your skin fresh despite delaying your skin treatments.

Stay Calm

Stress is a major factor in exacerbating skin issues. While it can be difficult to stay calm during a global pandemic, it’s a good idea to find a few ways to distress during this difficult time. Take up a new relaxing hobby, talk with friends, and focus on helping others.

Drink Water

Staying hydrated will not only keep your skin fresh, but it will also keep you healthy! Be sure to drink plenty of water while you’re at home. If you’re getting bored of plain water consider adding some fruit to not only mix up the flavor but also get those yummy vitamins!

Eat Healthy

We are what we eat, and our skin is a reflection of that. A lot of people turn to food for entertainment when they’re bored. It can be tempting to turn to snack foods, but it’s important to keep a healthy diet when you’re stuck at home. Try snacking on fruits and veggies, and keep balanced meals.

Sort Your Products

Now that you’re stuck at home, this is the perfect time to sort through all of your skincare products. Toss anything that is expired or old. Take inventory on what you’re running low on. At AFYA we’re offering free delivery to the tri-city area on skincare products! Also, be sure to check makeup and perfumes as well.

Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Dirty makeup brushes can cause pores to clog up, leading to acne, dry skin, and other issues. Take this time at home to clean all of your make up brushes. This will keep your skin fresh.

Exercise

Staying active is very important, not just for your skin but also for your mental and physical health. If you’re somewhere where there are not a lot of people go for a walk to get some fresh air. Or look up some at-home workouts!

Develop an At-Home Skincare Routine

If you don’t already have an at-home skincare routine, now is the perfect time to develop one. Our staff at AFYA will be happy to provide you with any tips! Follow up on social media or reach out to us through phone or email if you need any advice.

It’s important during this time of crisis that we all do our part to keep our community safe. It’s also important to take care of yourself. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact us!
